Miguel S. Moreira (Lisbon, 1996) holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in Portugal (2017) and a M.S. in Computer Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands (2019). During his time as a research engineer at QuTech, the Dutch advanced research institute for quantum communication and computation, his work centered on the realization of a quantum computer prototype demonstrating quantum fault tolerance.

Currently, he is a graduate student in EQuS at MIT, where his research focuses on scaling superconducting qubit technology for projects related to quantum simulation and quantum error correction. His work will span the development of control electronics and software stacks, the design of quantum processors, and challenges related to system characterization and calibration.

Miguel is a recipient of the Fulbright Fellowship for Doctoral Studies.
