Jeffrey Grover received his B.A. in Physics and Mathematics from Amherst College in 2009, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics from the Joint Quantum Institute (JQI) at the University of Maryland in 2012 and 2015, respectively. At JQI, Jeff focused on laser cooling and trapping of neutral atoms and interfacing those atoms with the evanescent field of an optical nanofiber. He used photon-counting techniques to study atom-light interactions. At MIT, he is applying quantum optics methods to enhance qubit readout and developing logical qubits for quantum error correction.
