Alberto is a Fulbright visiting student in EQuS and a third-year PhD student at Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), Spain, where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Telecommunications Systems Engineering.
His research focuses on quantum control and sensing with nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond, with particular interest in fast quantum operations and robust sensing protocols. At EQuS, he explores how control techniques developed for NV centers can be extended to superconducting circuits. His work aims to exploit their multilevel structure to implement faster, high-fidelity quantum gates.
Outside the lab, Alberto enjoys diving, climbing, running, and playing soccer. He has also joined MIT FC during his stay in Cambridge.
